Work Hard, Sail Hard – brandmood goes Croatia
Why even a workation?
Quite simple: because we want to combine work and experience. A workation takes us out of the office routine, gives us fresh wind (literally) for new ideas, and strengthens team spirit like nothing else. Working, laughing—and even hoisting a sail together—brings us closer.
Working to the sound of the waves
But anyone who knows us knows that, as event managers, we didn’t just bask in the sun and sip cocktails. Mornings were dedicated to work: strategy meetings on deck, brainstorming with a sea view, concept development in fresh air—and even a top-notch dolphin show.
Teambuilding in close quarters
Sailing is like turbo-charged teambuilding: little space, many tasks, and every move counts. Anyone who's tried to set a sail in 20 knots of wind knows: communication is everything. Sometimes we discovered that “we’re all in the same boat” doesn’t automatically mean we paddle in the same direction at the same speed.
Fortunately, we had two pros on board:
- Dieter, our managing director, who not only steers our company safely but also brings years of sailing experience.
- Bernd, our senior project manager and head of our Vienna location, who traveled the world as a professional sailor a few years ago.
What remains?
Besides mild sunburn and sore muscles: a stronger team. Sailing showed us that we stick together—whether at sea or in our projects. And hey, if you live together on a handful of square meters for five days, you really get to know each other.
Conclusion: Sailing is not just for leisure—it’s fun, it welds us together, and brings fresh wind for the mind.
That’s exactly how brandmood teamwork feels: rolling up sleeves together, laughing together, arriving together.
