A milestone for FAIRTRADE Austria - 30th anniversary!
On 28 September 2023, FAIRTRADE Austria celebrated its 30th anniversary with a spectacular event, which was realised in close cooperation with us. This special day was celebrated in two parts to reach both local and global supporters.
In the afternoon, a hybrid congress took place at the MuseumsQuartier in Vienna, which was streamed online via a platform specially built by brandmood & flave. Simultaneous translation into German and English enabled the participants to follow the top-class discussions and lectures in two languages. The congress offered insights into the history, present and future of FAIRTRADE engagement and attracted an international audience.
In the opening speech by Austria's President Alexander Van der Bellen, the significance and importance of FAIRTRADE was emphasised. The evening was hosted by the two ORF presenters Marcus Wadsak and Fanny Stapf.
The congress brought together outstanding speakers from various fields. Futurologist Harry Gatterer offered exciting insights. Federal Minister of Justice Alma Zadic highlighted the relevance of the Supply Chain Act. Under the motto "The future is fair", not only milestones and developments of yesterday were celebrated, but also a look at projects of today and the perspectives of tomorrow were discussed.
In the evening, the anniversary continued with a festive celebration. Over 200 guests gathered to celebrate 30 years of FAIRTRADE Austria in a fitting manner. The 3-course FAIRTRADE Flying Dinner by Gerstner rewarded the guests with certified culinary delicacies.
In the FAIRTRADE coffee house set up especially for the event, guests could enjoy coffee & cake as well as FAIRTRADE coffee cocktails.
The celebration was not only marked by significant speeches and discussions, but also by a wonderful anniversary cake and the sounds of a jazz band that lightened up the atmosphere.

The 30th anniversary of FAIRTRADE Austria was not only a celebration of the past, but also a look into a sustainable future.
